ITS is pleased to announce that AUP now participates in the federated network access service, “eduroam.” eduroam is an initiative of Universities from around the world that provides “education roaming,” or a simple way for students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions to get instant and secure access to the Internet when visiting each other’s institutions. eduroam participants need only enter their login credentials from their home institution to gain access to the eduroam service where they are visiting. For members of the AUP community, this would be your netID (your AUP Network account must be active) in the form of your @aup.edu (e.g. email@example.com) and your NetID password. eduroam is a secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.
The service is offered at more than 6100 institutions, in more than 89 countries. If you’re wondering where you can get eduroam service, the eduroam website provides a complete list of participating institutions. At AUP, all buildings on campus offer access to the eduroam service for our visitors. More information on the global eduroam project can be found at www.eduroam.org, while information about the eduroam service in the United States can be found at www.eduroamus.org. The availability of eduroam at AUP offers the added benefit of simplifying network administration. Visitors from institutions participating in eduroam no longer need to be provisioned on the AUP network. It also further supports AUP’s security initiative by providing an encrypted and secure wireless connection.
AUP students, faculty and staff who need help with eduroam should call +33140620696 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Visitors to AUP should call the help center at their home institutions.
